Chicken in Snow Season

Chicken in cold season like in Texas will look for food as usual seems not affected by the cold weather. This may because of chicken have thick quill so they don’t feel cold like us. She is still looking for worm by scratching the snow.

Generally happens in March, usually after February has had its last snow season, spring has arrived in US. We have buds on the wisteria, which is usually the first plant to get going when the weather turns nice.

The chickens have started laying eggs everyday. The feral hens are the best layers, and the hardiest overall. Their eggs are small, though. Bawk Bawk (the black sex-link that’s always missing feathers) and one of the Ameraucanas also deliver.
